Katie's Tea Party

Today Katie had a little tea party with her friends. It was so cute! All the little girls came in little dress up clothes and had peanut butter or turkey finger sandwiches, snickerdoodle or no-bake cookies, and lemonade. After her tea party the girls played musical chairs in the family room and then played in Katie's room. It is so fun to watch all her little friends come over and have such a fun time.

Katie insisted that Kellen be dressed up for the fancy tea party. Kellen was fine with dressing up but he insisted on wearing his froggy boots. Katie obliged!

Katie all dressed up and ready for her party.

The table is set and ready for our guests. We didn't have enough table settings for everyone so we had to make due with our "fine china" (yeah right!). The girls didn't even notice and looked so cute sipping their lemonade! Oh, and our table cloth is one piece of our curtains that were in our AZ house. It worked pretty well, nice!!

Everyone is ready to eat!

Katie and her friend Sierra.

Our neighbor Addyson and friend Sofie.

Savannah and Kellen. Kellen insisted on having a seat at the table. Savannah is really a happy girl this picture just doesn't show it-my bad!

Our friend Paige.

Katie has to be the life of the party and feels that by standing up she can achieve that! What a funny!!

Stay tuned for more Everett news soon. No, I am not pregnant!

Monday night FHE

This past Monday we went to an outdoor skating rink for free family night skating. Katie was SO excited! As we were walking up we noticed that no one was there. I thought maybe we were early. As we walked closer we noticed that all the ice had melted! I was really surprised that in February in Utah the ice had melted. Katie was so disappointed. So Katie and I dropped Kellen and Tom off at the house and she and I went to the Olympic Ice Rink. She had so much fun. It was a little hard at first but then we got a "balancer". It looks like a walker really that little kids can use for balance as they are learning. Katie looked like geriactrics on ice. It was so cute. I didn't have my camera at the time to get a picture of it so you will have to use your imaginations. So really it was only Katie and myself at the FHE activity. Oh well, what can you do.

What The Heck!!!

In the past 24 hours Kellen has managed to get into the tub of vaseline not once but TWICE! Katie was the smart one and said that maybe I should move it into a more secure location. If only I thought of that! Then this morning while I was trying to sleep for just 10 more minutes he got up onto the bathroom counter and pulled down a new tube of toothpaste. He brought the toothpaste right next to me and started to paint the carpet. Luckily, toothpaste will come and out and it wasn't the whitening kind with bleach stuff. How he did this right next to me while I was sleeping is beyond me. Apparently I was super tired because I didn't hear a thing! He's a total boy! Right now the washer is on hot water with lots of soap. I am hoping that the vaseline will come out of his pajamas! What the heck!!

Valentines Day and more

I a little behind on the blogging thing. With everything going on lately I don't have much time to sit on the computer. However, with all of the craziness we have had some fun, fun times.

A little update on Tom: He has sent out so many resumes we cannot even count at this point. The economy is so fun, isn't it?! We are just taking each obstacle a day at a time. Really at this point it's all we can do. We are just grateful for all the many blessings that we have and try to remember them everyday. Thank you so much for all of your well wished and prayers! We really appreciate it!

Katie and Kellen had dinner in boxes the other night. It was a fun little treat for them. We then all went up into our room and watched Narnia. Katie and Kellen are still talking about the cool Lion in the movie.

After sitting in boxes for a while Katie and Kellen thought it would be fun to try and put all their body weight on their arms while on the egde of the table. Does it seem like we are bored??

The next day Kellen asked me to play with shaving creme on the table. I was thrilled because I thought this would give me a couple minute break so I could lay down. Bad idea!! Kellen got shaving creme everywhere! He even spread it all over the couch. I guess that is what I get for laying down for a couple of minutes with a two year old boy allowed to do whatever he pleases with shaving creme in the kitchen.

Yeah for Valentines Day! Tom got up with the kids and made me breakfast in bed. He made heart shaped pancakes. Way to go Tom!

Katie insisted that we have a little Valentine Party. So we invited a couple of her new little friends to come over and make some crafts. We even had cookie dough all made to make cookies but they never got to it. You would think that would be the first thing they would want to do!

Yesterday it was snowing outside and super cold so the kids and I made a house out of some boxes from the move. The kids had a blast! Katie is going to sleep in it tonight. She wants me to join her. I am not sure that we can both fit in it. We'll see!!

The Bachelor

I am a little obsessed with The Bachelor. I love the social experiment that it really is. According to People magazine The Bachelor, Jason, has found love and is now engaged. Here are my thoughts on the girls (now narrowed down to three) that are left.

Molly

The Bachelor seems rather taken with Molly. I am not sure how I feel about her. He just thinks she super gorgeous...I am still trying to decide on that one. I think Jason is too taken with her and I doubt that she's ready to be an insta-mom.

Melissa

Last night Jason did not get to meet Melissa's family. Not good. However, he did meet her really good friends. Tommy says that she is too young for him. He really doesn't watch the show but to make fun of it. However, last night he let me know that it was not going to work between them.

Jillian
I cannot find a picture of her. I really like her Canadian accent though. She's cute and funny. I guess if I have to choose she would be my favorite.

I just found out who won on the internet. IF you are interested in a spoiler let me know!

What's your vote??

Katie's Anti-tickle suit

Katie loves to play tickle monster with Tom. This morning she put on an anti-tickle suit which consisted of a pair of pj's (bottom layer), then a shirt and pants, another pair of pj's, and three more shirts...oh and a wreath?!. For the longest time she refused to take a picture of her little outfit and then finally gave in giving the final result on the blog-eyes closed. I am not sure why the fall wreath was necessary but I guess it does ward of any potential tickle monsters!

Adventures in Babysitting!

Lately we have been watching a few little kids to make some extra money. It's hard work but the kids are super funny and fun to be with. However, there is one little boy that is just a little extra challenging. His mom and dad are both from Argentina and therefore speak spanish-this detail is crucial in just a second. They came over one night last week to meet me and make sure I wasn't a psycho before leaving their only son with me. We went over Michaels likes and dislikes and his mom's work schedule. Then, at the very end, she told me, "Oh, and Michael only speaks SPANISH!" Wa?? I am thinking to myself, "Well,I only speak English." So the little boy can speak with Tom just fine since he speaks spanish fluently but I can only understand a little bit. Luckily, Michael can understand english for the most part since he watches American TV. Although right now I really wish I would have listened in high school spanish class. I guess the teachers were right when they said that we would actually use this stuff in real life. Who knew I would be babysitting a little boy who only speaks spanish. Katie has taken it upon herself to teach the little boy english. Everytime she asks him something and he says "si" she tells him to say "yes". It's too funny that my five year old has become an english teacher. This is truly an adventure in babysitting!
