First Day of School

This year Katie started 3rd grade. I am not sure who told her she could grow up, but she did it anyway. She is extremely smart and super funny. She has many friends and loves to go to school!

This picture just made me laugh. It must have been really bright because both Katie and Kellen are shutting their eyes. It just looks silly.

Kellen looks sad that Katie is leaving him.

Here is my beautiful, sassy, fun, loving, wonderful Katie, all ready for third grade!

Katie's baptism

Well, it seems like only yesterday I was dressing Katie in her little blessing gown and now she is baptized. Time goes by so quickly! I am so grateful that Katie made the decision to be baptized and that Tom was worthy to baptize her. It was a beautiful day!

Because Katie is so tiny and cute, she had to roll up the pant legs of her small jumpsuit not once but twice.
Katie had many little supporters at her baptism. From left to right: Ava, Amelia, Violet, Reaghan, Katie, Ashlyn & Jamie. We were so grateful that they came!

Here is the family! Thank you all for coming!
It was kinda bright outside that day. Grandpa Everett and Grandpa Lyle were the witnesses. They made sure Katie went all the way under the water. I believe that after she was baptized, both grandpas gave a thumbs up.

And now for the luncheon...We had a yummy Costa Vita inspired luncheon with fruit and cake. I think it turned out rather well.

My sisters took my camera and just started snapping pictures. I had not idea, until today, what they took. For your viewing pleasure the luncheon....

Jenica made a yummy cake for Katie. Thanks, Jenica!

Tom's Birthday

This post is a little late in coming. We have been slightly busy. Of course we still had time to celebrate Tom's birthday!

This year the kids and I conspired to make a gigantic cake for Tom. We were going to make it in the shape of Tom but the kids squashed that idea. They came up with a more colorful idea.

Katie and Kellen each took turns icing the cake. Oh, and bytheway, this cake took 8 cake mixes, almost 24 eggs, a lot of vegetable oil, and a whole day to bake!

Kellen's turn. Don't you love the no shirt apron look.

Here is the finished product. This cake had to be made in three stages-bottom, middle, top. It weighed about 40 pounds and took a lot of icing. It was so yummy though! It fed about 17 people that night at Tom's party and then the young men at church that week too. It was the cake that just kept on giving.

Happy Birthday Tom! We love you!!

Katie's family birthday party

For Katie's family party we had aunts and uncle come over for dinner and presents.

This year we did birthday brownies. They were delicious.

Katie got a Barbie from aunt Shellie & uncle Mark.

My parents got Katie a pair of goggles. Scott was showing them off for us.

Scott was so excited to buy Katie an awesome gift!

Ta-da!!! It's a hamster!!!

Meet Gregory, the hamster!!!

Katie's 8th Birthday party

We had about 11 girls at our house for Katie's birthday party. We played Minute to Win It games and let them decorate their own cupcakes. All in all, we had a great time.

Katie was showing off the cupcake that she designed. Sure looks tastey!

We were in the middle of singing Happy Birthday when Katie started dancing and singing along....she's so silly!
