This August we went on a cruise down the California coast and into Mexico. It was my first cruise and Tommy's second. It was a lot of fun! We left from LA and then sailed to San Diego. We went to the San Diego Zoo for the day. We had a blast! I finally got to see my favorite animal, the panda.
The second day we arrived at Catalina Island. We went snorkling in Lovers Cove. The fish were really pretty and would come right up to you with out a problem. The cove is protected from fishing so they are used to humans swimming around just checking them out. After we went swimming and such we walked around the little town. It was the cutest little town. Everyone was so nice and happy to be near the beach. We plan to go for a vacation on the island and take the kids this time too.
The third day we went to Ensenada, Mexico. It was a step up from Nogales or Tijiuana. It was fun but hard to see little children having to beg for money or sell gum. When we got back to the ship I said a prayer or gratitude! Ensenada was fun but I liked San Diego and Catalina Island better.
The ship was huge and always had something going on. One night there were some jazz musicians in the main gallery. Tommy and I sat at the little library next to them playing cards and listening to the music.
Then one night the chefs hosted a chocolate buffet. That was so yummy and super fun! I had to force myself to stay up because it was at midnight. It was worth waiting!
After all that we were able to do it was nice to return home and see our two little ones. The cruise was four nights long. It was the perfect length.
