Bend It Like Beckham

Kellen had his first soccer game yesterday. His team name is Princesses and the Frogs (not my favorite, but I didn't get the final say). At first things went really well. The wind was blowing a lot! It was slightly chilly, but the kids were having fun kicking their soccer balls around the field.


Kellen and his friend McKenna were taking turns kicking their ball into the goal.

Then they started to play a "real game"-they don't keep score and just have fun. Kellen did not understand why they only had one ball to play with during the game. Also, he didn't feel like chasing it. Of, and if someone was in front of the goal, he would just stand there and cry about it. At the end of the game one little player had her shoes and socks off, most of the kids were crying and sitting with their parents, and the other kids lost interest all together. Their new team name "The Meltdowns!!!" Hopefully, next week is 100 times better!
