BIG FAT LIE!

Last night Kellen refused to eat his dinner. Being the "mean mom" that I am, I saved the rest for his lunch the next day. Today I reluctantly pulled out last nights dinner knowing full well I would get a fight and served it to him. Of course of fought with me. I left the room to go finished folding laundry and he came in and told me he finished his lunch. I told him what a good boy he was and went to go check his plate. He told me to wait and close my eyes. RED FLAG! I waited and did not close my eyes. I watched as he pulled the plate from under the couch and placed it in my hand. Then our dog got all excited about what was under the couch. I asked Kellen if his lunch was under the couch. Of course he said no. Then I walked to the couch, under great resistance from Kellen, and found his lunch underneath the couch all over the area rug. Needless to say, he a great talking to about lying and was walked immediately to bed where he is currently serving out his sentence. I don't know how at four years old he is so good at lying. He used to be SO honest. What happened?

Katie's new bed, Mr. Slinky, and art

Recently, I found a website that gives free directions on how to make all sorts of items. I really fell in love with the knock off Pottery Barn bed. It took forever but we finally finished Katie's new bed. It is super sturdy!!

The bed is made to allow for a trundle bed to fit underneath. There is so much room that Katie and Kellen use it as a little play house. They think it's super cool to hide from us under the bed.
Katie is really into art. She found a picture of Jesus during Sacrament meeting and decided to copy it. The marks on the face is her shading, not an owie.

This is how people without stairs in their home play with Mr. Slinky. You start with a high table, add scriptures, add a fold away table and a plastic bin, then onto a puzzle box on a piano bench and voila, you have "stairs!" The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Christmas Day pictures

On Christmas Day we all dressed up and went to the Riparian Preserve and took some family pictures. It was so pretty that day!

One BIG happy family! We even brought our dogs in on the action.

Christmas Eve 2010

Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree, how numerous are your presents! We had 13 people this year at my parent's house for Christmas. The tree had a TON of presents. The kids thought they were in heaven!!!
Every year we do a "Bethlehem Dinner". We eat things that people would eat at the time of Christ's birth. This year I decided to up the ante and offer a prize to the best Bethlehem costume. I was really proud that everyone took the time to dress up!
Mark and Shellie. Mark actually colored his uni-brow, chest hair and beard in with a marker. He got great respect for his extra effort! After dinner Tom had to go to Walmart and Mark joined him in his costume. He got some funny looks and some guy at Walmart thought he was Moses.
Tom, me and Katie. Kellen was in the corner pouting. He was being a little stinker!
Scottie and my Dad. You can't see it in the picture but for some reason my dad had a long train on his costume. He couldn't turn around very well without stepping all over himself.
My sexy Bethlehem man.
This was Kellen's costume-grumpy Kellen. We took a lot of time the day before and made little sheep costumes. He refused to wear it that night.
Katie was the cutest little sheep!
Scottie as a shepherd and his little sheep.
Our Hawaiian couple! Erica and Jake came as the Hawaiian Mary and Joseph. It was pretty awesome!

Gingerbread House

Every year we make a Gingerbread house. Our kids love this tradition. They love to make the house and eat the candy at the same time.

I looked over at Kellen at some point and he was sucking the frosting out of the tube. Apparently, it was really good.
The kids decorated the piano with all things Christmas.

Disneyland and Thanksgiving

This year we did the "Give a day, get a day" deal with Disneyland. We gave a day of service and got a ticket for Disneyland for free! We were able to get three free tickets. Kellen wasn't old enough to participate in the program.

We stayed with Tom's brother Todd and wife Ginger. Our kids had a wonderful time at their home. In fact, Tom's old mission zone leader came over for Thanksgiving dinner. His zone leader is now in Tom's brother's ward~small world!

Katie and her cousin Emma have such a great time together. I didn't really see much of Katie the entire trip. She and Emma colored and played on the computer the entire time. Katie really looks up to Emma. I wish we lived closer. Todd and Ginger, you need to move over here

Katie on Tom Sawyer's island.

Katie driving Dumbo. This was our first ride of the day. Believe it or not the wait wasn't too bad.

Parker and Emma peeking over Dumbo to say hello.

Tom and Kellen.
Emma and Katie. Notice the huge height difference. Poor Katie, she might not be super tall in life.

Cousin Truman on Tom Sawyer's tree house.

This is the back of Malificent from Sleeping Beauty. We tried to get her to look over but she couldn't hear us.
This is part of Tinkerbell's home. We waited 45 mins. to see her.

This is Kellen getting onto Thunder Mountain. He had no idea what was going to happen.
Although he doesn't know what a roller coaster is Kellen is not at all excited about Thunder Mountain! After it was all done he loved it!

Awesome picture of the Haunted House all decorated for Christmas. We had a great time!!! I just hope that Disneyland gives out free tickets again. I would be happy to take advantage!
