This past weekend we went up to St. George to visit Tom's parents. Tom took the kids on Wednesday night and I came up Friday because I had to finish my chemistry class (yep, got an A) and work. We had a great time Saturday playing with cousins, visiting Brigham Young's winter house, and watching Despictable Me. Super fun!
On Sunday morning, after church, we hopped in the car and made the trek home. The kids were getting bored and the DVD all the sudden stopped working (love that!), so I decided to tell a story. I usually make up stories cause they are more fun that way. The first thing that I saw while trying to imagine a fabulous story was a cumulonimbus cloud. I told the kids that I was going to tell them a story and to be quiet. Here is how the conversation went after my statement:
Me: The story I am going to tell is about a boy named Cumulonimbus (again, thinking creatively)
Katie: Is this going to be an "S" word story?
Me & Tom: Ha, ha, what? Oh, right, the "S" word in our family means stupid.
Me: No Katie, this is going to be an awesome story!!!
I start telling of a boy who looked all over for rain for his animals and how he had to go on a journey to find a magical weeping willow and wizard....
Katie: Yep, this is an "S" word story!
Me: What! Katie, listen while I finished and then decide.
Turns out, she loved my story about the boy who found rain and was eventually nick named Cumulonimbus by the magical wizard. Yes, yes, I have quite the imagination!
