Sweet Tom

I mentioned earlier that I worked nights for several months. When I worked, Tom would take the kids to school. Every morning when I got home from work, I would find my side of the bed all ready for me to into. Tom knew how much I hated working nights and did everything he could to make things just a little better. Sometimes I would also find sweet notes from the kids on my pillow. I was always grateful that my little family would try and help find ways to make things easier for me.The Penguin on the pillow was from Kellen.

Shaving cream

As a kid I remember playing with shaving cream and loving it. The kids really wanted a little something to do during the summer months. My idea was to play with shaving cream in the bathtub. Although silly, the kids really enjoyed themselves!! This picture cracks me up because Katie looks like she is having fun and she looks a little guilty at the same time. She was having way too much fun covering Kellen. After this picture was taken, Katie also covered herself in shaving cream.

A little Sunday afternoon fun....

The kids were playing together on a Sunday afternoon and decided to make Kellen super comfortable. Well, he was so cozy that only his face was sticking out. Well done Katie on a job well done.

Just hanging out together.

The kids and I were having fun one day with my phone. This is just one of the pictures we took together while playing. Also,, if you can do the "lip trick" that I am doing, you might just be a Lyle. I got it from my Aunt Penny.

First Day of School

This year Katie is starting second grade with Mrs. Nelson and Katie is starting sixth grade with Mr. Hardy. She is excited to have Mr. Hardy again.

Katie's 11th birthday!!!

When Katie turned 11 this year we went and had our nails painted. Some girls had their toes painted, while others had their finger nails painted. It was fun! We then went back home for some treats and to open presents. I love to have fun with Katie and her cute little friends.
Here are some of Katie's presents:
Nail designs

Barbie

Barnes and Noble gift certificate

Money!

Craft kit

Jewelry holder

Cute nails!

Here were the distinguished guests. Reaghan, Alina, Megan, Hailey, Reese, Katie, Kelsey, Ashlyn and Amy.

So, it has been a while!

So, it has been over a year since I have updated the blog. Our family was really busy for a while. Oops! I am going to attempt to update the blog over the next few weeks. After the last post, 2014 Family Reunion, I started working as a registered nurse at St. Joe's Hospital in Phoenix. I was with a mentor for the first 4 weeks on one floor and then moved to working nights with another mentor for eight weeks on my current floor. During my time working nights, I was exhausted and was kinda hating life. It was the hardest few months ever. I could not sleep during the day very well and was then expected to work three nights during the week, 12 hours at a time. My poor family had to deal with a very tired mama. I was able to start working days in March of 2015. Although it was hard to work during the day as well, it has been so much better! Sadly, because I was so tired, the blog was low on my list of things to do. Hence, the reason I am now trying hard to catch up.
