2014 Everett Family Reunion

This year marks the first annual AZ Everett family reunion. Although we have been together in the past all at once, this year we were together in Heber, AZ. We had a blast! We stayed at the Law's cabin and had some really good times! Here are some of the highlights.

No family reunion would be complete without s'mores! They were yummy and the kids had so much fun making them.

Sweet Katie working on browning her marshmallow for the perfect s'more.

Cousin Jack enjoying his gram crackers.
Hello, Hunter! Little Hunter was just chillin' by the warm fire.

Cousin Gram roasting his tasty marshmallow.

Uncle Tom was so nice to help hand out all the goodies so the kids could make their s'mores. Doesn't he look handsome while doing it?!

Volleyball at dusk!

One night we had a talent show. Tom played "I am a Child of God" for all to hear. He did a marvelous job.

The Ripley family did a lovely human pyramid.

Here is the awesome audience.

Ann and Ted did a marvelous rendition of "Warm kitty, soft kitty". Truth be told, I do not know the title. You can hear this song on the Big Bang Theory (tv show).

The Todd Everett family did a double dutch skit. Everyone had an opportunity to "jump" in a do a few tricks. Several family members took the time to perform.

Katie played "I know my Redeemer lives" on her violin. I played the piano so that counted as my talent. Kellen did a magic show and a dance for the talent show. I was a part of the magic trick so I didn't get any pics. Darn!

Uncle Jonathan did an awesome card trick. We are still trying to figure out how he did it.

Jack told some super funny jokes!

Here is the family. We are missing the Ted Everett family, Matthew, Nicholas and Mike Ripley. We hope they are able to make it next time.

One day we went to the lake. Kellen got to fish for the first time. He loved it! He did not catch anything but he learned how to cast off. I think casting off was his favorite part.

Another shot of the Ripley family pyramid.

Playing outside in the beautiful sunshine.

The Everett sisters and mama! Shannyn, Stacey, Stephanie and Ann. What a beautiful bunch!

Minute to Win it! Here is the anxious group! We were all excited to start the game. I could not stop laughing. The kids really got into it.

John and Gram were partners. Gram had a shower cap with shaving cream on top. John had to throw cheese balls onto the cap and try to get them to stick. It was so funny to watch.

A pool!!!! Grandma Everett brought a pool and the kids played all day one day with the water and balloons.

Truman!!

Cousin Gram, Sam and Hunter.

Gram and Hailey. They had a little fort outside the cabin. They would hand out together for hours. It didn't hurt that the little fort had a swing inside.

Water balloon volleyball!!! Look at Kellen's muscular arm. He and Tom were partners. One time when I was not looking, they flew a water balloon at me and it got me right in the neck.

Here is our team! I was partners with Ann. She and I made a great team!

Katie and Emma were team mates.

The backyard porch was perfect. It was so nice, especially when there was a breeze.

Here is the Law's cabin.

Breakfast crew! I look super tired in this picture.

Kellen, you are too manly!

ME and big guy.

Kellen and I wanted to go together on the zipline. Tom is helping us get a start.

Truman and Tyler hanging out. I think they were waiting to go on the zipline.

Grandma/Grandpa's fishing hole. The kids got to fish for goodies.

Spa day!!!! Here we are soaking our feet, relaxing our eyes and enjoying a lovely face mask. The mask was made of oatmeal and sadly smelled like something you should feed to a horse. Oh well, it was nice to relax for a few minutes. Ginger looks relaxed!

Ah, bliss! Ann sitting and enjoying a facial.

Stacey enjoyed a little light reading while soaking her feet.

Tom was so loving and rubbed people's feet for a bit.  Katie joined in the fun and had her feet rubbed by dad.

Nursing School Graduation!

Well, nursing school has now come and gone. My goodness, it went by really quickly! In the end, 49 out of 60 students that we started with graduated. Here we are trying to take a group photo. I am not sure if the end result ever really did turn out well. I have yet to see it.

Congratulations class of 2014!!
Here are my favorite supporters! Tom, Katie and Kellen put up with a lot of studying and nursing stuff for over 2 years. They handled it with a great deal of patience and love!
We had our graduation at the Mesa Arts Center on May 5th, Cinco De Mayo!

Here are my supporters again. Kellen was enjoying a yummy succor that Grandma Everett bought him. Speaking of which, I do not have the pictures of all of the people that attended graduation. As soon as I get them, they will go on the blog. I promise!

Here is Scott with Oliver, Landon at the bottom of the picture, Ross and Diana.

Kellen with cousin, Landon.

Landon, Hayden and my mom.

If you look really close you can see me on the left hand side. I am standing up getting ready to go get my graduation pin.

Mother's Day Tea

Last Friday, May 9th, I was able to go the Mother's Day Tea with Kellen. He was so cute! The minute I walked in he gave me a rose and took me to my seat. He then sang some songs with his classmates and then brought me some cake! Yum! He made me a little card that said that he loved it when I cleaned his room, he liked that I taught him manners (I will be keeping that card for the future!), and that I liked to jump on the trampoline with him. He is my sweet little man and I love him!!!
Me and my handsome little guy.

That is one of the cards that Kellen drew for me.

The girl in the green shirt is me! Kellen drew a picture of his mother!

Kellen and his best friend, Adam.

Laundry Room Bed

One night Kellen decided to build a bed in the laundry room. He did a very nice job, I must say. He made some cushions for a bed. He brought in books and then put bucket to hold his pull ups (yes, he is still working on staying dry through out the night). He also put a flashlight up for his books that he was going to read late into the night. Katie decided to join him and they slept together in the laundry room. Upon asking how they slept, they both said that they did not sleep very well because it was so uncomfortable.
Here they are on the little bed. I forgot to include the trash can that Kellen put next to him and the kleenex box by his foot.

They don't always wear Sunday clothes to make forts in the laundry room. They just happened to be dressed from an Easter celebration that day.

Katie being silly.
