Kellen said his first prayer....

in the nude! We were at lunch today and Kellen came to the table buck naked. I didn't have the energy to fight with him but I did make him say the prayer. He actually participated too. What a memory~a naked prayer!

This past week...

Last week Katie's kindergarten class had an unusual pet show. She and all her class mates made a pet that would considered unusual. Katie made a Kangaroo. She was so proud of it! Then she and her class entertained us parents with some songs. She is now on break for three weeks. She is in year round school and has 10 weeks on and 3 weeks off. Her teacher is great and she is progressing faster now then she was in her class in AZ.

Not only did we have an unusual pet this past week but we also had our first house guests! We were so lucky to have the Schmidt family come and join us while they were here for Jill's brother's wedding. Katie had so much fun with her little friends. Here are some highlights of the weekend.

Making cookies is our little tradition. We used to do it everytime Amelia and Eli would come over when Jill was working at ASU. I know that was a long time ago but the kids still remember. Of course, we have to uphold tradition!

Amelia taught Eli and Katie dance lessons while Jill and Mike were at breakfast with an old friend. It was funny how serious they all were during Amelia's dance lessons!

Amelia was singing "Castle In A Cloud" from Les Mes. She was going over it with Jill before singing it for her uncle and fiance during their rehersal dinner.

Katie and Amelia set up a bed in the hallway for the last night that they were here. They actually stayed and slept the whole night through in the hallway!

Best Friends forever!

Hopefully those pictures inspire you all to come and visit. We miss you all!

Look What We Woke Up To Today!!

We woke up to snow!!! Last night Tom came in and said it was snowing. Katie thought it was Christmas when she came into our room. So of course the kids had to go out and see first hand the snow in their pj's. I accompanied them in my robe and ran into my neighbor.

We went to church at 9am and when we came out at noon the snow was all gone. Katie was so excited about the snow and was so disappointed when it was all gone. So we took a drive up into the mountains about 20 minutes away and found the perfect place with lots of snow. The kids loved the snow! Cassie, our dog, found it to be rather fun as well. Toward the end Cassie had little blobs of snow all over her fur. She spent the rest of the time in the car warming up.

As we were playing we saw Katie running across the snow and yelling "I am so grateful for snow!" It was so funny!!

Kellen then decided that it would be fun to throw his glove into the stream. Tommy had to get on a rock in the stream and the fish the glove out from under a little bridge with a long stick. Now to think of it it would have made for a really great picture. What kind of photographer am I missing out on a great moment. I was more worried about retrieving the only glove the Kellen owns.

When we were driving home we saw the new Draper Temple. It was so pretty! The houses all around it were huge! In fact, the picture below shows a picture of a 23,000 sq foot mansion. In fact, if you are in the market for a giantic house it is in foreclosure! So have at it!

Last but not least, this weekend we also celebrated Kellen's 2nd birthday! Snow and a birthday all in one weekend what could be better:). Kellen actually gave me an interesting present on his birthday by pooping all over his room carpet all while the Direct TV guy was here. I guess Kellen is just a typical two year old little boy. He is all over the place and is extremely busy. We love our little guy and hope he will continue to grow and flourish with such vigor!!

Good Bye Friends

We are finally here! We left on Tuesday morning at 6:30am and got to St. George at about 5pm. In the middle we dropped my mom off at the Las Vegas airport as she drove with us to Vegas from Phx. We also played for about an hour and a half at a park in Vegas. The kids were so good for the trip! Katie just started school today and said she met a new friend nameds Jordan. I wasn't worried at all about Katie's ability to make a new friend the first day of school. That's just how she is. All in all we are happy to be back as a family. It took what felt like an eternity! So now I am spending most of my days unpacking and putting everything away. The townhouse that we are renting has great storage compared to our last house so it's kinda fun! We also have a basement (which is a disaster right now with boxes) that is going to be the playroom. Katie has already been busy making her own little princess play area. We even bought a little rug for her area from IKEA. We miss everyone already and hope that our little adventure will be fun and that we can return to AZ soon.
