Do not take me to Vegas! Any type of lucky streak that I had has long since gone. I would only bring bad luck to anyone trying to hit the jackpot. Where is this coming from? Here's the story...
For the past week there has been a really terrible odor coming from our garage. I really had no idea what it was. At first I thought it was old grass that was still in the lawnmower. Nope! This Saturday I went out to the garage on a mission to find the smell. Oh I found it...and it was awful!! I looked around, and then the freezer caught my eye, and then my heart sank. NO!!! The freezer had somehow had been turned off. It may have been during the storms because as soon as I pressed the GFI button it was back on and running just fine. We had a ton of meat and bread and otter pops inside the freezer. It smelled so bad! I now have an idea what dead bodies smell like after sitting in the sun. I am sorry for the description but it gives you the idea of the far out smell. Really, I am sure people looking at the house to rent thought I was storing dead bodies somewhere. Katie and her friend literally hid in her room while I cleaned out the freezer the smell was that bad. Infact, Ashlyn (Katie's friend) found some old perfume bottle and began frantically spraying everywhere to cover the smell. It helped! We were all on the verge of throwing up!
Oh and remember that whole luck thing? Just my luck, the garbage was just picked up that day. So now my family and the whole neighborhood (sorry Jana!!!) gets to smell rotting meat in the garbage can until this next Saturday. Tonight, I mowed the lawn so now hopefully the smell of drying grass will cover the smell of death!
I am just waiting for the little black rain cloud (thank you Jana for that most fitting expression) to blow away and go elsewhere!
However, I am lucky in many, many ways. I just mowed the lawn and it looks rather green, our house is starting to smell better:) and our family is happy and healthy. I guess things really aren't that bad after all!
