Time Out For Women

My friend Jen mentioned to me today that Time Out For Women is coming October 9-10th. There is a group discount for five people or more. If you purchase with a group then the entire weekend is only $48 as opposed to $50-$60 for only one day. So if anyone is interested let me know. We are trying to get a group together and go.

First day of school.

Katie is now a 1st grader! Her teacher, Mrs. Walker, is fantastic! I can tell that she is going to have a great year.

Katie in her new first day of school dress. She looked so cute with curls in her hair, her new dress, and new tinker bell backpack.

Katie and Kellen at the bus stop. Kellen had to come and tell Katie goodbye. He went to the bus stop in his jammies and no shoes. It was kinda cute:)

Katie's birthday party.

Katie had a water party with her friends on Saturday. They played on the slip 'n' slide, water balloons, and the play pool. They had a great time running around the backyard. Thank you to all the little girls that came to celebrate Katie's birthday.

All the cute little girls (plus Kellen and Tom at the end of the table) at Katie's party.

Katie's cake. She designed it and I executed her design.

Stike a pose Katie!!

Katie is Six!!!!!!!!!

Holy cow, my little baby Katie is now six years old. It seems like only yesterday we were holding her as a newborn. As she has grown she has become such a sweet loving little girl. She has many, many friends and is kind to everyone. I love you sweet Katie!!

When Katie woke up on her birthday she requested pancakes for breakfast. Of course we could not just make regular pancakes. We made a flower, #6, and a mickey mouse shape.

Katie and her little friend Reaghan. Reaghan stayed for dinner on her birthday and helped her open her presents.

Katie requested brownies for her birthday treat.

Family Home Evening Garden

The other day we had the brillant idea to plant a garden. We broke up the soil, put in plenty of vitamins, etc., and put up a fence to keep the rabbit from eating the seeds. We planted watermelon, pumpkins, honeydew and cantalopes. Oh, and some sunflowers for prettiness. I went out everyday, morning and evening, to water the garden. Instead of growing crops, we grew weeds. Dang it! We had a really good time together planting seeds. At least we tried, right?

Littlest Lawnmower

I just cannot wait until he is really old enough to mow the lawn!

California Trip

Last week we went to California to enjoy some cooler weather and nice sunny beaches. It was so much fun and we all had a really hard time coming back.

First, we went to stay with Tom's brother Todd and his family. Katie and Kellen had so much fun with cousins! We also got to meet to our newest little cousin, Graham. What a cute little man!

All of the cousins in the backyard. They were playing outside until the minute we left. Katie and Kellen aren't used to playing outside during the summer.

We went to Shakey's Pizza and loved it!!

Katie age 5 and Emma age 8. Katie has a ways to go before she catches upto Emma in the height department :)

No trip would be complete without stopping by Tommy's Burger. According to Tom, you cannot beat the chili ontop a hamburger. I still think Tommy's is an acquired taste.

On the way up to Agoara Hills we drove past Tom's old house. Tom was a little disappointed in the way the current owners are maintaining it.

After visiting Tom's brother we went to stay with Tom's Aunt Bonnie. She is so much fun! We also got to hang out with Tom's cousins. We had so much fun!!!!!
It was so cold at the beach that day. Katie and Kellen snuggled with together under towels.

Katie and Tom went to go check out the temperature of the water. The lifeguard said it was about 59 degrees. Cold!

Little Katie.

On the 4th of July, Tom went surfing with his cousin. He had not surfed in a while so he was a little rusty, but he a great time!

Here is Tom sitting on his board waiting to catch a wave.

I tried to write Katie and Kellen's names in the sand. It worked with Kellen's name and Katie's turned out a little funky. What can you do?!

Here we are in the beach. At this point, our legs were numb to the cold water. It was so much fun!!
