Kindergarten Graduation

Here Kellen is graduating from Kindergarten. His Principal, Mr. Miller, is sprinkling Kellen with first grade dust. I really love the look on Kellen's face :)

I am very proud of Kellen. He really did a great job in school. He did not love waking up early in the morning everyday though. Of course, once the day was over, he would always run to tell me all the fun things he did in Mrs. Lunt's class. He will make a super first grader!

This is me trying to get Kellen to make a normal face.

This is us not ready for the picture to be taken.

Aunt Di did not plan on coming to the graduation. She just happened to call and see what I was doing. Once again, she came to support her family. Thanks, Di!

I really tried to get Kellen to make a normal face. This is as "normal" as we could get. Hey, we tried!

Academic Night

Katie made it to Academic Night this year. We are soooo proud of her! She really worked hard for the honor. She only had one B during the entire year. She is a very smart cookie. However, as a mom, I am just as proud that she is kind and sweet. We love our Katie!

Kellen is really proud of his sister.

 Proud papa with Katie.

I am proud of Katie too!

Katie is waiting for Academic Night to start.

Kellen is super excited to be here.

 Our Golden Scholar!

You can see the back of Katie's head while she is shaking Mr. Albach's hand.

Aunt Di came to support Katie. We were grateful that she took the time to come and support her. She even brought her a flower and balloon for her accomplishment.

 Katie's friends Kamree and Abbie.

This picture of Kellen just pretty much says it all. If you even wonder what Kellen is like day to day...this is it. He's crazy and fun and a real goof ball!

Silly Mountain

Our family went hiking before the hot weather hit. We drove to Silly Mountain, about 30 minutes away from home. We had a great time! We saw beautiful flowers, a few quails, and a couple lizards.
See the beautiful flowers behind them. It was so pretty up there!

Katie made it to the top! Woo-hoo, K-nan! (her nick name)

Kellen made it to the top too!

Easter

I realize that I am a little bit behind. Easter was really fun, as always. Grandpa and Grandma Lyle gathered real and plastic eggs and put them all throughout the yard. Once again, there was a golden egg. Last year Shellie and Mark took the golden egg away from the Everett family. We usually get it every year. However, we took back the egg this year. Yep, Katie got it! Woo-hoo!

Here we are decorating the eggs that were eventually put outside to be found.

And he's off! We take our easter egg hunt very seriously.

Katie found a few eggs in the above ground garden.

Here is the proud winner! Katie found the golden egg. Inside the golden egg is $5.

Here is Kellen, Katie, Hayden and Landon looking at their loot.

Happy campers! They found a lot of eggs!

Finally, here is grandma's yummy dessert. The easter bunny is made of german chocolate cake and a few perfectly placed jelly beans.

Block 2 is over!!!

Block 2 is over! It really actually went by really, really fast. There were days that I was absolutely exhausted and days that were perfectly fine. I now get to get my house back in order and do craft projects that I have put off for many, many months.

I must say that I have had a lot on my plate lately. I have a family to take care of, I have a large primary calling, and I am in nursing school. However, with the help of Heavenly Father I have managed to keep things in check. There is NO WAY I would have made it through these past few months without the watchful eye of my Father in Heaven. Thank goodness I know that I am not alone and that He can help me carry my heavy load. The challenges that have been set before me have been great but I am felt very much looked after. How grateful I am for a loving family who helps me tremendously and for A LOT of divine help!!!

Block 3 here I come!!!!

He's buff

Today we were driving over to Old Navy and Kellen made this announcement:

"You know guys, when I am getting ready to take a shower and I am taking my clothes off in the bathroom, I look in the mirror and notice that I am buff."

We were trying not to laugh!! We agreed that indeed Kellen is a very buff man. Tom went so far as to say that if they were talking about Kellen in the scriptures that it would say, "verily, verily, I say that Kellen was exceedingly strong."
